TTRPG Community Newsletter 18th November

Hey folks! Welcome to the first issue of our brand spanking new and ultra-fresh community newsletter. Think of it as a short burst of news from the TTRPG world.

If you have news you want to share, you can find a link to our request form towards the bottom of the page.

We start this week with a new release from Morgan Eilish

Looks like maybe a soldier turned to stone in a library

The Lich-King’s Laboratory

Take a walk to the lich-king’s lab, maybe see what’s on the slab. Hmms, I’m not sure I can pull off any more Rocky Horror parallels here.

The lab is a Dungeons and Dragons module for a party of 13th level characters. Looks like a “years later, after the mad undead scientist abandoned his crib, things are going very strange” sort of deal. Unnatural monsters. Petrified wasteland. That sort of thing.

The module comes with the usual assortment of maps, handouts, NPCs and a trap-filled dungeon. Find it on DMs Guild if you like the idea of wrecking some weird monsters.

Some bad ass pirates vs cthulhu action, very dramatic (the pirates look like they are losing)

Cursed Captains of Cthulhu

Next up, staying with the ‘weird other’ theme we have a game I never realised I needed in my life until now: Pirates vs Cthulhu!

This RPG from Black Cats Gaming is easy to pick up and play (they tell me) and should soon see you sailing the seven seas. Probably doing epic sh*t by the looks of it.

It looks like the exact setting is up to you to determine. Whether you want hot pirate vs pirate action, or you want to take on creatures of the mythos. Or probably both? There’s rules for designing your own ships and everything.

If this sounds like something you’d like to part with some of your hard-earned (or fought, or stolen) gold for, you can find it on the Black Cats store.

A rather cool looking skeleton wearing a demon waistcoat and wielding a spiked club. Oh and rocking a blue Mohican too

Unburied

Was it just Hallowe’en recently or something? I’m starting to sniff out a theme here. And it stinks! (because it’s undead, obv)

Unburied from Calenmir’s RPGs is a rules-light horror game released on October 31st. The setting is a post-apocalyptic Earth, with the PCs using their skills in athletics, stealth, preparation and more to survive. There are also rules for solo-play.

You can check out the zombies, skeletons and more on their official site, if you’ve got what it takes!

Erm, I'm not really sure. Some kind of monster zombie creature with a name tag saying "Hello, my name is Tarsun, destroyer of suns"

Mork Org

This could be the scariest of the lot. Mork Org (I’m not using all caps - no shouting here!) is a RPG set inside “a terribly dull office block”. There’s endless meetings, scads of HR paperwork and more. That sounds scary to me!

Unsurprising for RPG enthusiasts such as yourselves, the game is based on Mork Borg, and released under their 3rd party license. As such it should be broadly compatible with other Borgs. (Resistance is futile)

This isn’t my kind of game, but they’ve smashed their Kickstarter goal so this must float quite a few boats out there! If you want to play a RPG set in an office from hell you can start that perilous journey on their Kickstarter page. But be quick as there’s only one week or so left to go.

Some cool stuff going on here with masks, plus there's a cheeky little render of the book

Crucible of Aether: A Mystic-Industrial TTRPG

Another Kickstarter. This one launching soon.

Crucible of Aether is the first KS from Living Metal Games. It’s a mystic-industrial game focusing on strong character progression, exciting combat and a skill system that encourages out-of-the-box problem-solving. Sounds interesting!

This is just the teaser but if you like the sound of skills that improve through use, careers that unlock as you play and that tantalising “mystic-industrial” tag, you can follow along via their Kickstarter page. (You can grab a quick-start guide and an intro adventure from there too)

That’s a wrap folks. Hope you enjoyed this brief ride through recent TTRPG news and events. If you want to share your own news let us know by filling in our online form.

Until next time!
