TTRPG Community Newsletter 9th December
Hi folks! Welcome to the latest edition of the TTRPG community newsletter, bringing you more delicious titbits to whet your appetites.
If you’re not already a subscriber then smite that Subscribe button above to get the newsletter delivered to your inbox of choice every Monday.
Got your own news to share? There’s a form you can use to tell us about it. You can find it at the end.
Let’s go!

FiveEvil
FiveEvil: Fiendish 5e Horror to give it it’s full name is a horror RPG from the Handiwork Games team. The fine folks who brought us BEOWULF, amongst others.
Now there are different types of horror, natch, and this devil is firmly aimed at the ‘ordinary people find themselves in a horrifying situation and need to get their own asses out of there’ end of the spectrum. So not seasoned individuals looking for trouble. Just folks finding themselves in the proverbial deep end.
They’ve tweaked 5e to make it more horror ‘friendly’. Replacing Inspiration with Desperation for example, which sounds fun. And replacing traditional DCs with an Intensity stat. I’m starting to feel nervous already and I’m not even playing the game!
This scary spin-off recently enjoyed a successful Kickstarter campaign and is now open for ‘late pledges’. e.g. the campaign’s over, but you can still grab it there directly. I’ve not seen this on KS itself before but it makes sense. I’ll let Kickstarter and BackerKit worry about who does what. That’s a different story.
Anyway. Off-topic much. If this sounds like your bag you can have a cheeky view on Kickstarter. There’s a free preview and an actual play if you like to do your research before parting with your hard-earned.

Against Time and Death
Another KS campaign. This time one coming soon rather than just finished. And a very different beast it is. It’s billed as a “war for all of time and space”. That sounds pretty epic to me!
This duet storytelling game has been created by Nick Bate (ickbat on the socials). I can see that this is his 3rd or 4th KS campaign. AND he has backed nearly 500 other campaigns! Wow. I hope a bunch of those other creators help support Nick with his project.
It’s really tempting to cut and paste the copy from the KS page, it’s just that good. Instead I’m going to sample it and encourage you to take a look if it has grabbed your attention.
“Two organisations fight to shape the multiverse in their own image. Their operatives weave their way through all of time and space, making changes throughout the vast swell of history…
“You are an operative wholly devoted to one or other of these two organisations. More than that, you are the best…
“You are about to meet your match.”
Boom! Love it.
This is a game of war, self-discovery and connection across all of time and space. (Lifting Nick’s copy again). To make up for me stealing his copy please go and take a look at his project. I think it will be a winner.

Four Suits Monster Hospital
This game from Lucky Newt Games looks incredibly cute. Which makes sense as this one-ish-page game is aimed at players of 4 years and up (with one older player to help).
The characters are doctors in a monster hospital. Their job is to use most of their senses (it’s pointed out - quite rightfully - that tasting patients is frowned upon) to diagnose what ails the patients.
It looks to me a little like House meets Pokemon meets the sweetest possible, up-beat, children’s movie about saving the day. Could just be me, but that’s the vibe I’m getting.
You can find out more for yourself on Itch. The game is only $3 so worthy of a risk I’d say. It’s also part of an Itch bundle - Tiny Tome 2. This bundle contains 50 micro RPGs, one-shots and other RPG-friendly goodies. And it’s just over 10 dollars. Well worth looking at I think.

RPG Kitchen Merch
Next up is, er, well, us!
Chances are, if you’re reading this, then you know us from back in the day on the Twitters. But in case you don’t know what we’re about, then I shall tell you in very brief. (I’m properly British and hence hate talking about my own stuff)
Our goal is to dive into our geeky/nerds roots, call on the powers of TTRPGs and raise money to help feed the hungry. It’s not a natural connection, I admit. But I’m kinda stuck to it.
We’ve just launched a “Merch for Good” online shop to raise said money. Usually a third of our profits from the shop go to charity. But to celebrate the launch, for the whole of December, we’re giving 100% of our profits instead.
If you like geeky t-shirts please consider taking a look at our shop. If you like the designs but don’t fancy a t-shirt please let me know and I’ll see what I can do. Teemill have a broad range of options. I stuck to t-shirts for launch but the sky’s is somewhat the limit.
That’s a wrap folks! Remember to let us know here if you have your own news you want us to share.
Until next time!
Adam RK.
